Don't know if this is the right forum or not but the question is have any of you ever raffled off a knife at a sportsman show. Mainly hunters and fishermen that are really tight fisted. To them $50.00 is big bucks for a knife. Over the last 4 years I have only sold / got orders for 3 knives from this local one day show. Only about 400 people attend. So I figured I would print 200 tickets at $2.00 each and have the draw at the shows close. Might help pay for the booth and the day.
By the way here's the knife.

Robert, I used to do that at Sportsman shows and gun shows. Im not sure if it was legal but had alot of fun doing it. It is good advertisement when there is an announcer at the show. Just tell the show personnel about your raffle and they will announce it and the winner at the end of the day. I sold enough tickets to make expenses but didnt give the knife away untill the value of the knife was at least met. This meant that I carried it until the next show sometimes. We had a motorcycle shop and sold tickets there also. My tickets were only $1.00 each. I gave away about 15 knives altogether. I quit doing the raffle because I had the notion people were distracted from buying one at full price. I dont know, people still ask me to raffle again. It is a good way to get their names and addresses to send them a brochure if I had one someday. Bruce

Just got back from the sportsmans day show. Had a great time. Just about sold out of tickets, more than payed for the booth and the knife. Had a few fizzy pops, met a lot of new people and I suspect that I'll get orders for at least one or two knives in the next couple weeks from the show. Plus I had two ladies sneak back to talk to me about knives for next Christmas for there husbands.

Robert, It sounds like you had a great time. The raffle is a real ice breaker at shows. Glad to hear you did well. Its also fun to have those ladies sneaking around. Bruce
