Jazzman,

Spyderco had a proto folding SPOT at the Spirit of Steel Show in September. A concern according to Eric Gleser and Travis Quaas was determining how best to keep it locked closed during carry. Athough I'm not partial to a knife that doesn't lock open (or closed), the folding SPOT seemed a successful concept with positive reviews and may come to fruition in the future. Rex has good words about this in his post about the SOS and it's still a good topic on the Spydie Forums.
