I've been thinking about this, and I think a SE of one of these would be what I'm looking for. SE because I have a lot of orderes to put away and rotate on a daily basis, and been noticing PE are dulling up quicker then I like. Usually I care 2 or 3 knives and put the dull blades aside when I don't have time to sharpen, and hope I don't run out of blades. I used a CRKT SE bear claw which dulled after the first yes. I can lick the SE edge with nothing happening. Big disappointment. What other spydercos can you all recommand? Need soemthing SE, holds it a long time..and tough?

Knowing that I have yet another week of more orders, I'm getting desperate for a new knife to fit the bill.

maybe it's just me, but my SE's always go dull faster than my PE's.......

btw, you shouldn't lick edges.

Sorry, it was just a figuare of speech. It truly is a dull knife that won't cut a thing at this point, and not sure I need anything that dulls so quicky. Funny cause I knew about the steel but didn't think after one session it would dull so easily.

I would suggest that the reason your PE knives are dulling quickly is less a function of what type of blade they are ( SE vs PE) and more a function of the type of steel they are made from. Try something with a durable quality steel like a vg-10 or S30V and I think you will see a huge improvement. You may find that a good S30V PE will hold a good edge after using it to cut in half your CRKT bear claw! ;) No i am not actually suggestnig you do it just a little comment on steel quality used in the knives. CRKT tends to use some pretty soft steel to keep their costs low.

Edited to add...

The Endura mentioned above is a good suggestin or a Delica. Not sure what blade size you are thinking about but the Manix has all the makings of a wicked slicer that is built like a tank. I would not use the Ronin for the cutting tasks you are talking about due to the sharp point which is very proficient at peetrating but more fragile than some of the other designs.
For a sharp easy to maintain edge I would get something in a straight PE blade to keep sharpening simple as well. I found wiht the fully serrated edges taht they watned to tear when used on products like paper and cardboard but worked wonders on items like plastic strapping. I preferred the PE based on the work I was using it for.
