I brought in a handfull of Comp Blade Leeks and I dicided to keep one for myself (I love it!) But after only a week I am getting some rust spotting on the blade (both steels) and the stainless handle, clip and clip screws. The knife has never been wet and it has been wiped several times with a tuf-cloth. I have carried it almost every day since I got it. Anyone have any similar issues?

I know, I am a Kershaw fanatic, I have never had an issue before, I have carried my ZDP-TI leek daily for about 2 years with nothing

Could there be salt contamination? Salt from the road to your car, to your hand ( tiny bit), to your knife?

Unless you wash it out of the pores/grain of the steel it will only be slowed down by oil.

Wash it down with hot ,soapy water. Rinse very thoroughly. Dry. Wipe down with clean, new cloth, or better yet a new silicone gun & reel cloth, or a new "tuff cloth". Don't use one from when you had a rust problem as if there was salt on it, you will be putting it back on the knife.

Good luck, Joe

Actually I am in the jewelery buisness and we have a steam cleaner here I may use that it does a heck of a job cleaning metal and because it heats the metal up any remaining moisture evaporates right away
