Spray painted Beckers?

I have been thinking about stripping the rest of my beloved BK14, and spray painting it with navy blue. I will definitely apply at least three coats on it, and I will most likely use Rustoleum. Has anyone done this before? If so, how does it hold up to use. I will update with pics if I end up painting my esky.

Thanks,

Offhand it seems that powder coat would last longer than spray paint, and some form of epoxy paint would last longer than powdercoat.

tell ya what, when I get a chance, I'll spray my 2 and bake it...do some endurance testing. Cant hurt my 2 any, right now I'm filing the pommel into a ''skullcrusher'' LOL

I've used ovencure Cerakote with great results on some gun parts. I was actually thinking about trying it on my bk11 since that's my test tube baby. I also used some Krylon high heat bbq/stove paint on some cheap auto wrenches and headers that started turning..baked for about 15 minutes (would have been longer but my wife came in early and caught me) @ 300 degrees. The wrenches actually held up good under daily use for a week. Maybe a longer bake time would have been better? The downside is color choice of only "black or silver". Powdercoat is also a good option as bdmicarta stated.

Excellent, but I might beat you to it, but if you get it done in the next week or so, could you make a post in this threead? or start a new one if you want.
