Spray Protectant for Leather Sheath?

Hey guys, just got a Helle Alden and it's my first leather sheath. I know people seem to recommend SnoSeal a lot around here but I was wondering how something simply to apply like Kiwi aerosol leather protector would work? Is there any downside to a product like this?

I ask because I've got some protectant and neutral leather cream I use on my dress shoes and boots that I got from Browns. It's very high quality product.

Would spraying it with two coats of the protectant then applying a coat of cream afterwards be a good way to maintain the sheath (say every 6 months to a year).

I just want to make sure it's not a bad idea before I do it since I've never seen the spray on products recommended here before.

The main down side for sprays is that most people don't know when to stop. More is definitely not better. One light spritz and then back on the shelf with the can. (and yes, I think any of the rub in stuff is better)

I'm not as knowledgeable as most are here, but I like the Feibings Aussie leather conditioner. It has worked very well for me.
