Lately I've been in the giving mood, and my wife thinks I have lost my mind. Anyway I feel that every good deed is rewarded, and this is what I have done in the past few days.

FRN Delica and FRN Endura to two of our officers because I got tired of seeing them with cheapies clipped in their pockets.

My last and only G10 Tim Wegner PE to a buddy of mine for a wedding present. He has been in love with that knife for several years.

FRN Gray Calypso JR PE VG-10 to my barber that well......you just want to be extra nice to the man that cuts your hair.

FRN VG-10 Delica combo to my uncle that will really use the hell out of it on his farm.

and out of all the giving my wife has confiscated my Micarta Caly JR SE and my SIG 225 for her very own. What the? That wasn't supposed to happen, but next time I WILL lock the gun room behind me.

Now I've got to start hunting more to put back for other occasions. My point for this thread is that for the past however many years, most everyone that has received a Spyderco from me is still carrying them, and usually have stories to tell me about them from a buddy cleaning fish and game to a volunteer fireman cutting someone out of a seatbelt that was in a bad wreck. I thought I would give a few more away to these guys that I thought "needed" them, and hope they can use and enjoy them. It is nice to be able to buy a great knife at a decent price for a gift that you are proud to give. So what kind of feedback have you gotten from your friends or family about the Spyderco that you have given to them?

Great thread!! I have given away knives to people just because. I gave the salesman that we bought both our Toyota's from, because he was and is an HONEST salesman. I kow that sounds like an oxymoron, but it is true!!

i just gave a fellow fireman the d'allara. he saw me with the drop point one and wanted one. i explained that the rescue would be better for him with his side job, landscaping. anyways he loves the thing, keeps on raving about it at the firehouse. i just picked up 2 beat to crap blue delicas. they will be on there way to colorado for some much need touch up and then they will also go to a few of guys at the firehouse. as far as karma goes, the guy with the d'allara found a real old worker that he says is just sitting in his closet so he gave it to me. :D

Gave a Delica to my Best man and Groomsman at my wedding. Was going to offer my bride a Harpy, but got talked out of it! To much innuendo.

Gave my brother a brand new 3 blade slippy Case XX Whittler with nice day-glo orange G~10 scales just becuase he admired it at one of our last B~B~Q's..

Damn,, that was nice of me come to think of it.. I really do love that kid!.:p

I'm still trying to buy my girlfriend her first Spydie; I offered her a PE Cricket, Pink Delica/ Ladybug: no succes so far.

She's still too scared of them:grumpy:

Besides that she's sweet though;)

spydutch,

Try getting her something with a sissor blade/tool. That is how I first hooked my old lady on pocketknives. I got her a Bulldog Lady Boot with Cracked Ice scales for her first. And, I always keep it sharp for her..

I gave my wife a pink Jester thinking I could make here like knives, more specifically Spydercos. I was wrong. She hated the gift, so I returned it and bought my self a cricket.

I think it seems strange that some people think nothing of using a 12 inch kitchen knife, but think a small slip joint or small spyderco is like playing with a loaded gun.

I think maybe some of us were born with more steel in our blood than others.

Gave four gray Calypso Jrs. and one Manix to the guys who built my house.

I warned the guy that I gave the Manix to that it was sharp. Saw him in Lowes a month later and he confirmed that it was sharp... He said that his son keeps trying to steal it from him.

My contractor carries his Calypso Jr daily and puts it to good use.

Gave my brother a Manix. Every parent in his son's boy scout troop wants one. Yes, Boy Scouts still teach responsible knife carry (folders).

I have given a few away over the years. The two that stand out the most are:

A Delica that went to my son-in-law. I have NEVER seen him without it since in almost a year. He really uses the hell out of that knife.

A Rescue Jr that I bought for my twin brother, who is a paramedic. That knife has assisted in the extracation of several motor vehicle accident victims. He loves it and his co-workers respect it.

Virtually all of my girlfriends buy tanto minigrips. I don't own a tanto minigrip or anything. They just all fall in love with the tanto minigrip sooner or later and buy one.

A buddy of mine invited me to his ranch to hunt deer. Before I left I gave him a Spyderco Manix.

I gave my son a Native for carrying on Boy Scout camping trips.

Wish my friends would give me a manix.

Do you have a deer lease or ranch? :D I'd be your best buddy and bring you a Manix or better every hunt!

i have the Manix and have given my Dad one... He loves it. The Manix is unbeaten when it comes to large tactical folders... Even though RatFinkenstein says i am wrong... LMAO!!!!
