There's a new knife maker in town! His name is Zach Whitson, of "Iron Mountain Knives" out of Butler, TN. This knife was handmade by Zach for me, and should arrive by the end of next week (I hope).
Here is a brief excerpt of the e-mail Zach sent me, describing the knife :

"Kenny,
Your knife is finished. It came out quite nicely if I do say so myself. I haven't stained the sheath yet, do you want it black? I used Corby screws for the handle which are less fancy but much more reliable than the custom pins. I also added a red and black liner to the handle assembly. In the photo with the knife and sheath notice the mirror image of the sheath in the blade. The black canvas micarta handle was bead blasted to give some texture. So, you have an ATS-34, four inch tactical knife made for ice pick grip with blade in, nickel silver hand guard soldered and pinned with an eighth inch nickel silver pin, bead blasted black canvas micarta handle epoxyed and corby screwed to a full tapered and hollowed tang, it has a thong hole and an additional nickel silver pin in the handle with other custom touches such as the red liner and file work on the tang."

I can't wait to get my hands on it. I'm going to try and write a review of it and post more pics when I get the knife. Any comments are encouraged as this is Zach's first knife (made for someone else) as a custom maker, and he would like feedback.

I could try to make them bigger, but I'm afraid I'd have to start buying a bigger monitor :D seriously, I couldn't figure out how to shrink them and keep them smaller, or maybe it's just that patience issue I have....

Looks like a great one! Let us know what you think.

Here's some help with the photo's ;):D

Nice piece, smooth lines. Looks like a fine addition to any collection, now if you wouldn't mind telling us the price range of the piece? Thanks! and enjoy your knife. :)

We generally prefer to limit pictures to no more that about 600 pixels width. I often post a smaller picture, maybe 450 pixels, and then give a link to the larger picture that those who are interested can follow.

After stepping back about 20 feet and uncrossing my eyes, I could tell it looked like one heck of a knife! :D :p

Thanks for sharing,

Karl

Is this a special purpose knife?

The edge is reverse of the usual when compared with the guard and handle shapes. It almost looks like a fighting or sentry removal knife.
