Hi;

I'm new to posting here, so if this is the wrong place to ask could someone please point me in the right direction.

I'm looking for a parying dagger that has twin spring blades. The blades spring out from the sides of the blade it's self, forming a sort of v shaped trident. It is used to catch slim fencing sword style blades. It is seen, ever so briefly, in the movie The Three Musketeers (the Disney version).

Any one know where to find a working replica of this strange dagger?

thanks in advance

J-Man Welcome to the forums.
United Cutlery had a similar type of set up that you are talking about.They pushed it asa a futuristic space ya da ya da type contraption. Not sure if its still made this was a couple of years ago. Check the links here and also Smokey sometimes has these odd types hanging around. I'm sure someone else can fill in the blanks for you as this type of knife doesn't hold my interest but I retain a wealth of useless information LOL.

Take a look at the Phoenix UC 726; you can see a photo at: http://www.discountknives.com/united/Page30.jpg. They sell it for $49.63. BudK has it as well, for the same price (http://www.budkww.com/details.asp?productcode=UC726). If I were you, though, I would try to find a store that has it before buying it. I say this because I admired this dagger in catalogs for months before I finally saw one in a store and actually got to hold it. When I did, I was very disappointed, and would not pay $20 for it now. This is the only dagger I can think of that fits your description.

Welcome to the Forums, we're glad to have you here. Hope you can find what you're looking for.

medusaoblongata;

That's not the knife I'm looking for at all, but your not the first person to think it was...thats a Klingon dagger and yes the thing is a hunk of junk. However, I have to thank you immensly because I checked out my friends BudK catalog and they actually do have it! It sells for like $75.00. I can't believe I found one..thank you, thank you thank you...yet I feel a bit foolish since the blasted thing was right under my nose...oh well, fate works in strange ways I guess...
