My spring cleaning continues (first in ten years....lol) and some of you may have seen my post concerning the Parker VH I had put up and forgotten about. Well today in a box marked store leftovers, down under some old records and blank yellow forms I found these two Case knives. I don't think either was ever carried or sharpened. May have been a couple knives from the display board in the shop.

Number 1 is a Bare Head Single Blade Trapper CV 1 dot with yellow delrin

Number 2 is a Texas Jack with 2 blades CV 10 dot with jigged bone

I am almost enjoying spring cleaning...;)

Finds like those'll make cleaning a lot less painful.

Last year something similar led me to my 70's dots fish knife I've owned since 1975 or so and had been wondering where it had got to.

Both are beautiful knives. Man you must be loaded with knives. Finding random Case knives in your house. I wish I could find just random knives layin around in mine.

I still have many boxes to go through...this is what happens when you close a business, things just get shoved in boxes by people helping and by the time you are finally out of the building and everything shut down you really don't want to deal with the boxes so you just put them on shelves and then procrastinate for years about going through things an throwing things away. I do love the knives but to me the 108 year old 12 gauge Parker is still the real find!

My Father and I owned a full line gunshop. We also sold high end knives, we sold several of Sid Birt's first knives as well as customs from Paul Rimpler, Randell, and others along with Case, Al Mar, Cold Steel, etc.

I have a 7 Dot Texas Jack that is a twin to the one you posted. It has the half stop and opens and shuts like a vault. Not quite in as good as condition as yours though.

Oh yea...gotta love finds like that.

I never do well at spring cleaning though because I end up reminiscing over old stuff and the "cleaning part" doesn't get done too well. Kudos to you for your will power.

Hope you find more treasures like that.:cool:

Full sized or Junior...Case or another brand...locking or not...decisions, decisions...

I have looked at the newer Cases and from pics it seems the yellow is not as, well...yellow as it used to be. The Bokers seem brighter and have carbon steel blades ( the Case have CV as well). The Eye Brand seem bright as well...

Has anyone bought a Case recently? How is the color?

I tend to favor the Boker soddies over the Case. Both the gauchos and the cinch are great. Great prices too.

Absintheur, maybe this will help a little. A quick shot I just took in natural light of my Case Sodbuster Jr. and my Boker Tree Brand Sodbuster Jr. (on top in photo).

I got these two in the last few months. I prefer the Case, myself. I think the fit, finish, and action is better. They're both good knives though.

Today an Oldtimer was unearthed, a 1940T slim trapper w/liner lock. This should be 1095 steel, it is razor sharp after a few licks on the razor strop. Still more to go....

I reckon I agree.

I have both the yellow/CV Case and yellow/1095 Böker (both large and small).

The Böker's yellow is a little deeper, the Case is more of a yellow-ivory. The CV steel is more polished and, even with a patina, smoother/shinier than the Böker.

Both have good edges, good snap. Patterns are very close, very close indeed.

The quality of the Case is better, but I'm happy to carry either one.

If I could only keep one, it would be the Case.

ArfinGreebly, I like your style. All the stinkin pics I have taken and I never ONCE thought of using a BF window as a backdrop for a knife. BRILLIANT!!!!
