Every now and then you see one in a movie or read about one in a book, but I never see them in real life, so I assume either they don't exist or they aren't illegal in the states.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's a contraption that conceals a switchblade (usually 10" or so) on your wrist under your shirt sleeve. When you pull your wrist up at a sharp angle the blade is released.

Are these more than myth? I don't think they'd be legal if they are around... just curious.

It would depend on the state, if this knife was say in Arizona where there is no blade length restrictions and autos are legal it would be legal. If it was in a place say like N.Y. it would be illegal because its too big and is an auto.

Edited to add:

Oh yeah, I don't think there real, just props. The closest I've seen is a cane switchblade.
