Caught these two in the same spot while fishing lake Shasta. I was impressed how chrome colored this rainbow was and this is my first spotted bass. This is my first year fishing this lake and it's full of nice fish like this (these are small for the lake). Fishing will get hot in a few weeks as the water heats up. I should have used my b4 for comparison. Hope everyone is having a good winter. I've decided to add this piece of fat wood from my yard as a give away to the one who guess what these two fish bit (they were both caught on the same ?). If guessing bait you must name bait and presentation or if lure you must name make and model. Limit to 2 guesses and I will mail the winner this piece of fat wood at my expense (conus) off shore at your expense. It's not that hard of a guess. Thanks.

Looks like a great meal is on the way. Congrats on the fish and the fun.

Down Deep or close to top?

If they were down deep, that's why they were probably so light and shiny colored, when their down deeper the sun doesn't get to them and they lighten up.

Down South we say "when the dogwoods are blooming the fish start biting". Any old sayings out West or in other parts of the good old USA?

They were both in about 25 feet of water.

Nice catch . I bet they made a ggreat tasting lunch too  . I'd take a guess and say you caught them both on a fairly small Mpes type of spinner , most likely with a reddish or that bright safety orange color on it . ;)
