Spring for a LB5

My friend and neighbor has a LB5 which he left on his boat and the spring bar rusted out. The knife has sentimental value and he would like to fix it himself. Does anyone know where he could buy a replacement spring?

My first thought is to cannibalize another one and take the spring from it. You could buy a beat up one with good snap for next to nothing.
