Daylight Savings Time? Already?

I'm afraid so. It starts early this year. In fact, it starts at 2am tomorrow (Sunday) morning.

This will be the first time I've experienced Daylight Savings Time ! ! We were one of three states , untill this year, that did not change the clock. Hawaii and Arizona being the others. Are you for it or against it ??

Enough with Daylight Savings Time!

How odd to implement it after the vernal (spring) equinox when the days (daylight) are growing longer anyway! I'll take some daylight in the morning, thank you, so I don't have to get dressed in the dark. But I'm sure all those rocket scientists/astronomers in congress knew what they were doing when they standardized the current format in 1986.

Next year in 2007 we can look to even more DST when we begin on the second Sunday of March instead of the first Sunday in April. That leaves only 4 months of the year on standard time. How can it be "standard" when we're hardly ever on it? What will they think of next? Move clocks ahead 6 hours and save even more?

Poor Arizona and Hawaii. How do they survive on standard time throughout the whole year? I can name a ripost to every argument for DST. why can't we leave well enough alone?:D:eek:

Dang, I have to change time in all my watches, alarm clock, the clocks on the walls (I need to bring the ladder for the one with chimes over the stairs ), the VCRs, the clock in the car... the computer changes itself luckily.

I hate daylight saving time and I don't think that it really saves anything, do you want to get earlier to school or work ?, change the schedule, not the clock.

Dang...I'll even have to change the time on the clock that THEY implanted in my head a few months ago.:D.:D.

I have been fudging for all these years & NOW you make me feel guilty !

Uncle Alan

I'm self employed.. I could care less what time it is.. well.. aint true !
Rum Thirty is very important and begins.. ummmm NOW !

Changing the clocks and having to wake up an extra hour early is a small price to pay in order to have the daylight shifted towards the end of the day, allowing us to get off of work in a timely manner to golf in the evenings with light still out.

I could care less. An hour one way or the other. Meaningless. What frustrated me was cutting the state up into two different time zones. You would think that after years of fooling around with the concept of daylight time, they would at least have done it consistently. Boggles the mind.

Since I'm on nightshift tonight and it means that I go home an hour early and still get paid... I'm for it.

It doesn't matter to me since we don't have to deal with this nonsense in my state.

:p :p :p
