Yet another spring has come thread.

Plum blossom is blooming just now.

Japanese white-eye. Flower nectar is the favorite food of this bird.
Also, known for their aggressive temptation, cute looking, beautiful voice
and strength of breeding pair bond.
Sometimes mutual preening is seen.

A varied tit just cracked a sunflower seed shell, taken through between the legs. :D

Winter is over and Spring has come.
Thanks for looking.

PS. The season of backcountry skiing has just began.

Despite all the snow around here, over the weekend I was out quite a bit and heard birds that haven't been here for months starting to sing. Just a few of them now, and they're tough ones to be here in this weather. But spring is surely on its way now.

Good job getting those bird pictures!

Looks like your place is much colder than here Kamakura but the symbols of early spring
looks the same - bird songs.

Thanks, rocketbomb.

If Fujita Yuji wanted, he could post a bird picture every day!

I never get tired of looking at his photos of birds; he captures their personalities and quirks perfectly in a single shot.

Ah, spring in Japan! And then to see the fabled sakura (cherry) blossoms bloom later on in the summer. One day. . .

I never get tired of your photos, my friend. But where is the knife? Those are great too.

Fujita San,

I love the shot of the bird twisting his head up to search for predators and preening. They must have a soba noodle for a spine.

Those pics look awesome. The weather is warming up quite a bit, I guess it is a sign of Spring coming. Although this year, I am not really ready for it.

Great shots Fujita, I always look forward to your posts for the fantastic photos and great commentary on life in your part of the world.

I too have been watching the birds returning and glad to see spring will soon be here. I hope this wintry mix of precipitation we're having today passes and I can get in the woods with my camera for some personal photos tomorrow.

Wish I was there again.

On the opposite end of the scale, we drove down to see the kids last week. 345 miles. Do you know what I saw? SNOW. I have never seen such a even snow cover over that many miles in this area in the 60+ years that I have been here. The snow was right up to the top of the fence posts every inch of the way down there, No bare spots, no wind cleared area's just 24-33 inches of snow as level as a calm day at sea. MAN are we going to have the water if spring does ever come. We have 33 inches right now.

There is no sign of spring in the Dakota's

No spring yet in New York either. Great to know some parts of the world are enjoying the seasonal change. Nice photos!

Thanks, guys for kind words.
I'm happy you like these shots and comming season.
Looks like spring is comming gradually and slowly...

Looking at wildlife enjoying spring is a great joy but for me winter is the favorite season
of the year. Because water is abundant almost everywhere (as snow), hard work
of all day without much sweat, animal tracks, warmth of good down sleeping bag, and finally snow
and ice world with my favorite outdoor activities, ski and ice climbing.

I'm planning next knife. As my work shop is located outdoor, I cannot
make knives in winter :(

Thanks for looking and reading again.
