It's a beautiful day today, so I went on a little walk with my Beckers. Here is my campsite, I built the shelter a year ago primarily with the BK9.
...my favorite hatchet, a Norlund.
It was much easier and enjoyable to use the BK2 to baton through the logs than the BK9. That could be due to the reprofiling and lack of coating on the BK2.
I decided to do a little chop-off. I did 40 chops with each knife. The BK9 is on the left:
No surprise, the BK9 is a much better chopper. Now lets see how the hatchet compares. The Norlund is on the left and the BK9 in the middle:

again no surprise, the hatchet is made to chop
I tried to make some curls with the Beckers, the wood I chose was not ideal, but the BK2 proved much more capable for this task.
