Spring Steel

I got these springs for free from a local manufacturer. 1/16th thick X 2" wide
360" long (a guess) Anyone have a use for this or any ideas about what can be done with? Toss it as a dumb dumpster dive?

A little thin for regular stuff, but cut in into strips and weld it together some similar steel for damascus maybe.

I agree with Peter, probably good pattern welding stock.

Send it to me and I will make a giant jelly roll damascus billet.

Yes Im serious, it would be really cool. I would put it in a big cannister and fill the voids with pure nickel powder steel and forge weld it.

You can make some nice looking damascus with that bandsaw blades (15N20) and nickel.

That's good stuff, probably 1075 :thumbup: Smaller spring coils are usually 1095. Take Bruce up on the offer
