spring swage -- forging tangs

Anyone here have a good source for some sort of springy-hardy-hole doohickey for drawing out the tang on bowies? :D

Michael, that would be a power hammer, I've got one you can borrow if you come by, I'll even thrown in some forging heat. :D

That's a most useful tutorial on 'hawk making on your site Brent! I bookmarked it for future reference this weekend. (and got some "real" beer lined up, too!)

The hawk forging info was what Ray Richard demo'd at a hammerin' last Nov. I threw in a few of my own techniques that seem to work also. The swage has been very useful for alot of different forging techniques. I keep finding new uses for it each week. It can double the speed of drawing out a damascus billet by hand.
