I have a sears stockman that seems to have lost some spring tension when CLOSING the blade. it snaps open like new when opening hte blade, but not when closing it. it feels like it is catching, or the spring has lost tension. the main blade doesn't share a spring, and everything seems to be in working order, otherwise. any suggestions?

feel free to move this if it is misplaced.

Dirt is inside the knife. Gunk gets built up between the backspring and tang. Use a bent paperclip to dig the crud out. Then flush it with WD 40. Dry and oil.
