Hello to all:)

I know that I am fairly new to the forum but I have been nothing but blown away by the camaraderie and generosity that is on this forum. There's quite a few GAW's going on right now so I debated about waiting till they were all over but decided to just do it now:cool:

Now on to the GAW-
It's open to all regulars in the traditional forum. Just post a pic of your favorite working knife and say" I'm in" stories and the like are of course welcome as well:thumbup:. I'll let this run for one week, I'll choose the winner next Friday (3/27/15) via a random number generator. Aka my wife haha:p
Let's have a good time with this:) and bring on the pics:D:D:D

So up for grabs is a GEC #72 lock back in black wood. I've put a good edge on it and used it lightly around the house but it's itherwise new. I will ship any where in the world so everyone is welcome!
So with out further adue.......lets get this party started:D

Ryan

Now thanks to the incredible generosity of Mark, he's donated this GEC #48 in stag to the GAW:D
So let's keep the entries coming and the pics:D:D

This is one of my favorite knives. An old German made Okapi ratchet knife that I made a new handle for. It's made out of aluminum breaker bars and 3/16 pivot screws.

I'm in - thank you. You are very kind and generous. This is my favorite work knife - I love the CV steel and the old school style reminds me of my grandpa. He was a knife nut. He gave me a small SAK and a strange knife that folded inside out. He gave them to me when I was five - my mom flipped out and took them. But they were promptly issued back whenever I arrived at grandpa's to be used under close supervision - that was code for don't do that when your mom's look'n. Still have a couple scars on my knuckles from trying to open some of his knives when I was kid. Folks call 'em nail breakers - I call 'em knuckle busters!

That's a beautiful knife! I'm not going to enter as I've already entered a couple but here's my favourite working knife:

She takes a fine edge, and I love the patina she's getting, I make sure to patina the backspring as well to make it uniform.

Very generous of you, thanks!
Sam

I am adding this 48 Northfield in Stag to Ryan's generous GAW. Thank you Ryan!

It has been lightly used

I'm in. My working knife is my EDC. I'm not into rotations and such so you'll always find this one in my pocket.

I'm in. I don't know what you mean exactly by "working" knife, but I'm going to say this one. Not a collectible, it's being used as a barlow should be. She's kept on the end table, so my wife or daughter always has a sharp knife when they need one.

I'm in. For working knives, it's a toss up between the #71 Bull Nose or the #99 F&F lock back.

Wow! that is really generous I am in. My Wirejack has to be my favorite working knife. A simple design that just simply works.

I almost bought a 72 in African blackwood but I was on the fence too long and they sold out. Thanks for the chance with your generous giveaway!

I saw on the exchange that only 24 of these were made. Mine definitely gets carried and used.

Wow, great give away. I thought about it for awhile and came up with this little guy. As far as a true working traditional knife this is it for me. This knife was a daily companion for about ten years. I worked in an office environment with a "No weapons" policy. This little Buck seemed to not ever concern anyone, so it rode in my slacks everyday. I now work outside and carry much larger knives and have several to choose from. Every time I see this knife though it reminds me of how many years this little knife was able to do pretty much all the cutting tasks thrown at it. Thanks for a chance in your GAW.

Great GAW; thanks for your generosity, Ryan and Mark!!:thumbup: Good luck to all the entrants. ;)
I have one of these SAKs (usually the silver Electrician) with me every day to help me do what needs to be done. I'll admit that my lifestyle doesn't present me with a lot of situations where I really NEED a knife, and that makes me feel guilty sometimes about all the knives I have. :(:o But then I get a new knife and feel better for at least a while. :D:D

I'm in, thanks!

My current favorite for getting things done is an old (OLD) boker harness jack. It's a very heavy-duty knife!

tstaut, that's a beautiful boker jack knife!!

I'm loving all the entries and pics:D thanks too all who are participating

Thanks for the gaw!

I've not branched out from GEC slip joints. ... But excited about trying their lock backs. And that one looks fantastic. I'm partial to wood handles on pocket knives.

This is one of my all time favorite knives.

Thanks for the opportunity.

Jim
