Anyone planning on going to the NKCA show here in Springfield at the end of June?

6/27 - 6/29 National Knife Show
Dealers from across the nation will buy, sell and display knives of all kinds. Hours: Friday noon-6pm, Saturday 9am-6pm, Sunday 9am-2pm. There will be a knife auction Saturday night starting at 7 p.m. Admission at the door is $5 for adults, 12 years and under are free. NKCA members are admitted free with membership card.

Last year's show kinda sucked, but I'm hoping for more customs and high-end productions knives this year. ;)
 
That is correct. It's towards the back of the fairgrounds in the E-Plex. (I think that's what it's called.)
 
I will be there, as I don't need much of an excuse to head on down to Springfield, MO. As far as shows go, it's ok. Heck, it's a friggin knife show, so I will have a great time! :) Not going to be many custom makers, but there will be some. Great show, if you like pocketknives(which I do). Great show if you are looking for bargains, as most table holders are people selling parts of their collections, and you can find some pretty unique stuff. Last year, there was a guy selling a matching set of Tony Bose stag handled fixed blade hunters that fit into a nice double leather sheath. Pretty nice set up, and I'll bet it's been a long time since Tony made those knives. Out of my price range, but it just shows you what you might find.
 
If any of you are going -- I'll be there around 10 A.M. in the morning on Saturday. I'll be wearing jeans, long-sleeve button up shirt and probably flip-flops (hey it's saturday, I ain't got to dress up.) :D Blondish hair, dark-rim glasses and a goatee. If you see me, say hello. If you want, e-mail me and I'll send my cell number. It ain't Blade, but I'm still foaming at the bit! :D
 
I'll be there. I will be the one with the long, flowing red hair and I will either be wearing a green Speedo or a purple thong. :eek:

Just kiddin. I'll be the tall, goofy looking dude with the glasses. I will most likely have a backpack full "O" knives on my shoulder, and probably several knives hanging off me somewhere. :)
 
BTW, I'll also be toting my girlfriend too. She's a short blond girl (you'll probably see her first).

And I'll probably be standing next "pack-man" with a bit of drool on the corner of my mouth.
 
I'm thinking I might make it up, buit will be later, 5 hour drive. WIsh it was next weekend, gonna be in area anwyays camping.

I'll be the SHORT goofy looking guy in glasses. ;)
 
You gonna bring a slice of that Camocarta with you? I'd love to see that stuff.
 
I keep the one knife I made with it so far(well, pointy piece of steel, Inever put an edge on it) under seat of truck to show people camocarta and my sheathmakers work. :)

I so wish I could make it. I'm coming down to the area this weekend, but the time has been filled with family obligations. My only hope is if it rains on Saturday. I missed the show two years ago b/c of a wedding, didn't remember it last year, and it looks like I'll miss it again this time.:( Oh, well... Hey, bteel! Are you watching this thread? If I can make it, I'll try to call you Friday.
