Just like the title says, these will be released sometime this year as companions to their XD series of polymer pistols. Thats about all the information that is available at this point, but I'd like to see if the knives are as good as theri guns.

probably depends on who makes them for them? Hopefully they are not like the HK knives made by boker (nothing really special and over priced)?

I love Springfield 1911 pistols. And I love Smith & Wesson revolvers. I would expect the XD knives to be of the same quality/price as S&W knives are. Which isn't bad, but not at the same level that their firearms are.

actually, almost all of the S&W knives i've seen were rebadged United Cutlery or similar junk knives from China or Taiwan. my friend has their "SWAT" knife and it's sloppy pile of yuck. that said, i hope these are nicer.

I've yet to be impressed with any firearm company's propriety knives, the only exception being the BM HK knives.

However, the XD is a great pistol...a Glock with a better grip angle. Look forward to seeing the knife.

The gun brand that has a half decent knives is Beretta. Remington perhaps but I consider them collectibles and not users.

S&W, Winchester, Walther, Colt, Glock and some others have their names on knives but they are all junk.

I hope the XD knives turn out better than the typical junk!
