Last year at the Spring Gathering, we held the First Annual Spring Slingshot Challenge. After a grueling competition, a Champion was crowned and much glory bestowed upon him. Although I do not recall who ended up winning (OK, it was Jeff) that Champion has reigned for a full year and enjoyed his time on the throne of slingshottery.

It is time once again to see whose balls will fly true. Who will be crowned the Champion of JK Marksmen? Will the current champion retain his crown? Will his arch rival, the steady-handed JK, pull out a victory? Will Uncle Bill be able to hit the target after the first round? Will Andy display the same skill at hitting the target as he did pelting the outhouse while Kirill was availing himself of the facilities? Will outdoorsfan not totally suck and be out in the first round? Will a newcomer shock the world with a level of slingshot skill that has not been seen? No one knows but, after the smoke clears, the balls don't lie.

There are many of you that would love to attend I am sure but, due to distance and timing, will not be able to make the Gathering. This is your chance to play along at home, to have some skin in the game.

All you need to do is to pick your shooter. If he wins, you win. More than one person can pick the same shooter and, if that shooter is crowned king, there will be a random selection out of the people that picked that shooter. The prize has not been selected yet but will be a knife and you will like it!

I'll go with outdoorsfan, I am sure he has been on a secret grueling training regimen for the past year.

I'm going to go with kyenglish. Rumor has it that he is showing up with a double-barrel shotgu.. er slingshot for the competition.

Sounds like a hustler to me, I`ve heard rumors that Peter was on the Proffessional Slingshot Team in England. ;)

He did "win" one of the "contests" last year as he was crowned "most photogenic"

Well, my grandad, William Dalton Martin, was known as Uncle Bill. So, I pick Uncle Bill. Never saw him do it but as he as born near Texarcana a long, long, time ago, I'll bet he knew how to use a sling-shot as a child. Unfortunately he's not around to ask anymore. I'll have to ask my dad later this week if he remembers Grandad having/using a sling shot.
 
you ever shoot yourself in the hand because you weren't pullin' flat? yeah, me neither.
