Sal,

Would you have any desire to do a sprint run of the Merlin with H1 steel and maybe a brightly-colored FRN?

No, no ,no Thom. What you meant to ask for is a blue anodized titanium handled Cricket! :D

With the big, grinning pacman, I don't know if Fozzy was joking, but a neon color would be a great idea. It's always nice to know where a Spyderedged, hawkbilled ClipIt is hiding when you need one. Since an H1-steeled Merlin would mostly be applicable to nautical activities, a neon green, yellow, or orange would be great. Neon yellow would be my choice, but I'm only one consumer.

Easyrider,

First wait for your beloved carbon-fiber Navigator; then go for the anodized titanium-handled Cricket.

I would have to go with orange, yellow, or green though I personally prefer orange because it would stand out more anywhere (even in the woods). :p

i would buy another merlin (at least in h1) in a heartbeat. color is not really a concern to me, though i would prefer SE i think.

With or without the big grin, I wasn't joking about the neon-green! In fact, let's make it glow-in-the-dark neon green! I'm not jokin' about that either! Check out www.wichard.com for their sailing knives which are available in what I believe they call 'flourescent' and also www.victorinox.com for their StayGlow knives. I have both Wichard glow knives and a Victorinox StayGlow. They both work well and glow nicely... But they aren't Spyderco!
;)

Yes, I would love one with a neon green handle. I know it would be a water use knife, but it might be cool to have it without serrations too?

Great idea, Fozzy. Glow in the dark does sound even better.

From what teeny bit I've read, H1 isn't as much of an edge-holder compared to VG10, AUS-8, or ATS-55. If that's the case, the SE would make the most of the edge-holding it does have.

A plain-edged Merlin seems like a great idea (unless you used to sell them), but it'd benefit more from VG-10 in my opinion.

How about grey (like the Calypso PE) or a drk red (same color as the old red snap-it) FRN?

I would say orange. Orange has that safety look about it.Hunters wear it ,road crews wear it, and life jackets are orange. My flare kit and gun for the boat is orange also.

People see orange and tend to think safety equipment, I think.

Kind of like guns. Black plastic stock =weapon, must ban! Same gun in pretty wood stock=hunting gun like dads=ok. Thats not my view (as a life NRA member) but how sheeple think.

bright orange would be nice. please count me in for 1pe and 1se. thanks for the interest sal.
