So Sal posted a thread asking about japanese steels and it made me realize that I dont think there is a thread dedicated to suggesting sprint runs.

For me, I am dying for a CPM 3V Military. The toughness of that steel could really be taken advantage of when used in a thinner blade. Its significantly more tough and more corrosion resistant than M4. If I had my way it would have OD green or coyote brown G10 on one side and a stonewashed RIL Titanium framelock on the other, silver hardwear and a stone washed clip to match the scale!!!

That is probably my dream Spyderco knife! What is yours?

So if you have any suggestions for a sprint run post em up in this thread and just maybe Sal and a dealer will surprise us with a run.

Very impressed with my 4V mule, use it daily for fruit and no real patina to speak of (I do wash it after and oil it occasionally, lol). That would be a cool steel to see pop up in a Stretch or PM2.

G-10 Delica in any steel would be welcome in my hands! And more Caly sprints-- My superblue 3 and ZDP 3.5 are truly wonderful knives.

3V is becoming a magic name. We have had Cruwear and more recently 52100 each of which has significant toughness. It is hard to find definitive information to compare toughness of these 3 steels in an apples to apples way. But no doubt most people that own Cruwear and/or 52100 would probably buy one in 3V.

I've suggested that some of the most popular Spyderco products such as the PM2 and maybe the Military should be offered in standard steel S30V, supersteel such as S110V, supertough steel such as S3V, and super stain resistant steel such as H1 or I seem to remember something like L200.

I haven't read much about toughness of the 52100 Military but I understand that the "supernatural" "indestructible" steel that knife company B___e uses in some of their blades is very similar to 52100.

BDMicarta, you are correct about 52-100 and some guy from Ohio. Heat treat has a lot to do with it, as well as geometry. 3V is my all around favorite steel and its performed stellar in my fixed blades. It is almost as tough as shockproof tool steels like S7, has great corrosion resistance for a carbon steel and out of the high toughness CPM steels has the highest wear resistance.

The only 3V folders I can find are outrageously priced customs, a few random striders, which arent my cup of tea and the Spydie Tuff, which might be one of the ugliest knives I have personally ever seen.

So I want a 3V folder designed to cut! The most cuttinest knives I have are my Millies. Naturally I think they would be the perfect platform for it. I would take one however its offered, be it in straight G10, carbon fiber, full Ti, fluted Ti and a combo of g10 or carbon fiber and Ti, like the Knifeworks sprints. (I will be ordering the S90V CF/Ti knifeworks sprint for sure). The OD Green and or Coyote scale would be just to set it off and make it look a bit different. Im not a fan of crazy colors. I just want muted natural colors. I also love the idea of offering regular production with property specific steels so the end user can decide which steel is best for their use.

Millie in 3V or CPM-154.

I would have said a g10 Millie in M4, but we are getting that, and i am overjoyed with my 52100 Millie so far. I would have also called out a Super Blue Mille, but I'm pleased thus far with the like properties of 52100.

A fully integral military with bearings and cruwear steel.

Or regular millie with 15V and smooth, radiused lightning strike carbon fiber and special milled titanium pocket clip. Smooth palladium spyder inlaid into the presentation side

I'd really like a pm2 in VG-10 because I love how my Delica holds it's edge. That would probably be the only pm2 for me

Make a whole 3v series like the 110v. Red handles. Not like that ugly forum native either. Actual red. Crimson. Fire truck. I'm with the OP. I'd get the millie.

I would also like to see 52100 used more. Wherever and however. Just gimme more 52100.

I'm also dying for an emerald green frcp.

Last month, Sal mentioned on the spyderco forum that a caly3 in different steel is coming...
"We're working on A new G-10 Caly3, but the steel isn't VG-10." - Sal

Forgot - my sprint request -
Even though it is not yet out, the Rhino in something like s110v

And for the love of Pete, not black g-10. I'd have pre-ordered one, but I refuse to pay for any more black g10.

I would take a couple of those!

I think its time for the UKPK to get some sprint love

This was talked about by Sal but never confirmed that it would happen. However, just a little while ago Sal confirmed that the UKPK will be getting the S110V treatment with darn blue FRN!

Manix 2 XL with M390.
Don't care what color the handle, if I don't like it I'll get some custom scales made.
