Since I've started to collect Spyderco's in 1999, I have always wanted to pick up a Spur. However, whenever it was the right time, I could never find one and when I finally found, I couldn't swing the 80 bucks to buy it! Through the reintroduction of the Spur, I finally have my PE Spur that I have lusted for for 5 years. Like the Paramilitary, this knife is worth the wait! Review to follow!

Couldn't agree more, Jazzman! The Spur is awesome, especially in its latest incarnation. Time permitting, I will try to post a review and some pics here as well.

Knife budget? What's that, Anthony?? (Ouch, I just checked my bank statement, and I think I found out!) ;)

I'm afraid I'll have to offer some negative feedback on this subject. The PE Spur I bought had quite a bit of side-to-side blade play so I returned it.

Sorry to hear about yours having side to side play. I have two now and both are rock solid. I'll be forever thankful to Sal for reincarnating one of the best Spyderco's ever.

Anthony,
There's always next month! Did you get your Para yet?

Thanx for the kind comments. It's a short reincarnation. Just a "sprint" run of 1200 pieces.

We wouldn't do another for a year or two and it would be changed.

Got two of the new ones (PE), but I would like the hole to be a bit bigger. Once you get used to 14mm on the Lil Temp/Para & Rescue Jr, 11mm is a tad small. Some grooves on the thumbrest, like on the Rescue Jr. would also be nice. While we're at it, G-10 scales would make it perfect!

Thumb serrations would be a definate plus, but because of the size of the knife, I don't miss them that much. G-10 would be awesome, the G-10 Spur would be so light that it would disappear in the pocket! How about a CF Spur ;) Still, I'm happy enough about the current run!

Jazzman, I did get a Paramilitary and it is now my EDC. It is a wonderful midsize knife. I will pick a Spur as soon as I can get a chance. :D

I just got a new spur, and I cannot believe this is only a limited edition. It's touadd psgh to find small, high quality, one-hand folders like this, and it bugs me to no end that some of the best designs disappear before I can afford to buy enough for everyone I know. Grr to spyderco for teasing us like this. :(

P.S. I understand the need for discontinuing knives, but there are precious few spydies with a short blade (<2.5") and VG10 steel, and the spur is one of the best. I hope sales and interest flourish for this little guy, and he ends up being a permanent part of the line.
