Spur Reissue

I hope Sal can help me out here. I used to carry a Delica to work every day, but after 9/11 I decided to switch to a smaller knife. I bought a Meerkat and Navigator and do like them but last week I switched to an old Spur that I had. I have found that this is the perfect length under 2.5" (I'm a Federal employee) but longer and a little more substantial.

I don't think that I have ever seen Spyderco reissue a knife but I would love to see this one again. For those of you who haven't seen one it's basically a smaller version of the Ventnor hunter. If someone has one and can post a picture, please do, I don't have a digital camera.

If Spyderco doesn't have enough interested people to reissue does anyone know where I can get another one?

Well, this bites. I saw my first Spur ever at the big gun/knife show in Tulsa last weekend. Neat little knife, a little bigger than the Mouse. I actually saw two for sale, one at one table, and one at another. One was going for $70 but the other one was only $48.99. The part that bites is that I don't remember the name of the knife shops!:( I'll ask the wife to see if she remembers, but even if she doesn't, at least you know there are some still out there.

I think the new Salsa is supposed to fill this niche. Imagine a slightly larger Navigator with a 2.5" blade and a compression lock. :D

I do have a pic but I don't think that Sal wants images of it publicly posted yet. If you send me an email I can send you the image.

The Spur is not likely to be re-issued, unless there is a substantial demand. If it were to be, it would not likely sell for less than the Pro-Grip ss.

The Salsa is a 2.5" piece. Carlos, you can post if you want to. I will have production protos at the New York show. These can be phtographed as well. I have them in Green, blue tan/gray and Titan.

Sal,

Thanks for answering. I understand about the reissue, but I think the Salsa is probably exactly what I'm looking for. (I'm not concerned too much about the price, I'm willing to pay for quality products.) The Delica was perfect but after 9/11 the blade should really be under 2.5" just to pacify everyone.
