Can somebody please uplink a Bladeshow security camera, (directed at the Busse Table of course), to the BadMojo site? Or post a URL here?? I know there's a few secret squirrels lurking about the floor who can hook us up!

Les...You anywhere near what used to be called Ladd AFB? My wife was born there,but she can't remember the new name. Thinks it starts with an E. Fairbanks was the closest anything. She's an Army brat and it's one of those places that in the 50's 'didn't exist' officially.

Wet, you are referring to Ladd Army Airfield from back when the Air Force was still a sub-branch of the Army. Ladd has been swallowed by Ft. Wainwright in Fairbanks and is still in use for the most part but mostly for helicopter operations. Also, the Alaska Smoke Jumpers use the airfield, and yes... It is close. Wainwright is between my place and Fairbanks, and I spent my last few years in the Army stationed there. There is also Eielson Air Force Base near by.
 
Hi Les. Just got back from ANCOC. Goofy haircut and all... Did you see Jennifer and Eric are soon to be making knives from D2? From Jerry's explanation on the SwampRat forum that might be a better steel for the JM concept knife. In other news, some sexy voice indicated that DEs will start shipping this coming weekend. Halleluja!!!

Yeah, it was the short one, and from what I now understand SWC is running phase one and two together next year, so it was all a waste of time. That sure puts the COC in ANCOC.

Thats the one, although it must have been an AFB for a while as her birth cert says Ladd AFB and a USAF hospital is listed. Now Ft. Wainwright. Her dad was a CWO and from the pics he took in 1953-54 desolate would be an understatement.:eek:

Yeah, it may well have been a "Base" during the transition. Was the hospital listed called Basset?

No,it just says USAF Hospital, No other name. She still has 'Larry', a Lynx that her Dad shot that had their dog in mind for supper. Sucker's about 3 1/2' long. Pretty good size I guess. I'm more familiar with scaly things that live in the swamps down here.:D

Yeah, no scales up here. Just fur, fins, and feathers.

Lynx are cool. I spent a couple of hard days tracking one last year just to come up empty handed...:grumpy: :D
