These are two awesome knives from Spyderco that both feature the Compression Lock and G-10 scales—and aside from a few similar stats, they are two very different knives. I won’t keep you waiting for the bottom-line: in my opinion, the Para-Military 2 wins hands-down in terms of material, robustness, overall comfort in hand and value for money (the Junior sells for roughly $30ish more than a PM2 online.)

So why the comparison?

Two reasons, actually. #1: VS threads always seem to attract attention. #2: I just don’t want anyone to forget about the Junior or dismiss it out of hand—such a great little cutter/slicer (all belly and no choil) with a whole lot of cutting edge! It combines several great features from other popular Spydies in one compact package. What do you get when you mix a Sage, Persistence, Native 4 and a Para2 together? The DiAlex Junior, that’s what!

Well, that’s my opinion. I’d like to hear yours!

Thanks for reading! :)

I plan to add a Junior to my knife drawer before next hunting season. Have been trying to pick up a used one but they just don't come up very often for sale and I don't need to purchase a new one for my intended purpose. I plan to put it to work skinning game so it is going to see its share of mess and will be kept razor sharp. I definitely think this is an underated model and wish I would have had one in my pocket this year for hunting season but the Sage 1 and Para2 M390 did an admirable job for me.

Great comparison. The Junior is a great knife and does get lost in the PM2 craze quite often. However the PM2 is indeed a good deal for what you are paying for.
