Guys, help me out here.... how do these two steels compare?

I'm looking at the Manix 2 and these are two options I have in steel.

I like tough steel like K390 but also appreciate the convenience of stainless.

I know, but MagnaCut has spoiled me. 😁

K390 is not very tough in the grand scheme of knife steels but does have a high yield strength because of the higher hardness.

SPY 27 is going to have similar toughness to K390 but is much more of a joy to sharpen.

Cruwear has better toughness than both of the above steel and it has noticeably better corrosion resistance than K390.

In the Endela platform I micro chip K390 in my farm uses but do not with PD#1. PD#1 is basically Cruwear.

For general EDC I like SPY27.
It is close to s30v but much easier to sharpen and not chippy

I have a native 5 in spy27 and it is very good

Soooo many choices....! But I like the sound of CruWear.

I thought K390 was pretty tough but I guess I haven't used it that hard. I mostly cut cardboard with my Endura and it handles that pretty good.

I would like a tough steel that is less prone to corrosion.... so CruWear sounds right!

Get the Cruwear, one of my favorites.

Significantly tougher than K390, almost corrosion free. A bit tougher than Magnacut, hardness should be similar.

Note that they make a Magnacut Manix 2 (LW) as well - in yellow.
I have seen it... I do prefer G10 or micarta if I can get it.
