Anybody still using this? Its been a go-to program for years, but since I can't remember the last time its found anything either I'm surfing safer or its lost its effectiveness. Any guru's out there with thoughts on SBS&D, or recommendations for another program?

I haven't used S&D for over a year (different security package now). However, I seem to remember that you need to check for and download regular updates. Since the phishing software and spyware is constantly changing, S&D provides updates the will search for and destroy the newer bots.

If you use the "immunize"feature it prevents you from downloading the malware. Which in turn leads to not finding any.

Spybot S&D is still really good. Update regularly and use the immunize feature. In addition I also use Spyware Blaster and AVG free. If you don't open unknown attachments or surf to dubious websites and avoid clicking on popups you should very rarely have an antivirus find anything.
