I recently picked up a Spyderco Endura w/ green G10 scales from Knife Center on sale for $69.95. VG-10 - plain blade.

I've owned multiple Delicas and Enduras with FRN scales - but this is my first with G10. I love it! The handle is heavier and feels slightly thicker - giving the knife a beefier feel than its FRN brother. It balances well and the VG-10 blade is shaving sharp out of the box.

The only thing I don't like is that now I want a G10 Delica

I am seriously thinking about one of those Enduras - even though I already have an Endura 4 and on order a Military. Spyderco does a good knife for the money. Just don't think you will be happy once you have the Delica, there are many more knives you need and you will be buying knives on a regular basis for many years to come.

Though heavier the G-10 endura is thinner than a standard endura, heavier because of the full length non-nested liners. I liked mine but sold it in favor of getting a regular one.

I got one for a similar price a few weeks ago. I have a lot of Spydies but this one was a real shock. Quality was well above that of the FRN model and that one is great as well. I purchased a 2nd one because the voice inside my head "You will never see a knife this good at this price".

I had to listen, it's the voice inside your head....ya know.

I have both, but prefer the FRN. Don't know. Its just what I'm used to, and the action on my FRN is lighter. The FRN seems thinner (to me) dues to its light weight, though knifenut is right about the G10 being (infinitesimally) thinner.

So what is the deal with these RIDICULOUSLY inexpensive Endura 4 G10 prices???
I mean it seems they are just giving these beauties away.
Are these now discontinued? Are they overstock? Defective? Blemishes?
Can someone please tell me why we are so blessed right now with less than $70 G10 Enduras?
Is there a catch? As we all know when something seems to good to be true, it probably is...

BTW I really hope it's not a trap because I just ordered one at this great price online at Ebay...I have my fingers crossed I don't get screwed.

Isn't there a full flat grind FRN Endura on the horizon, or am I making that up? If so, that might account for the somewhat discounted price on the G10.

There's no catch, I've bought 14 of the newly discontinued Spydercos at substantial savings. They aren't blemished, they are the same knives you got before they were cut from the line. For now they will be cheaper, then when they all are gone they will go back up in price.

Hi Autoopen,

Jill is correct. We just have to reduce inventory to get ready for new models. The best way to do that is to lower the price. It often means a loss of profit as well but the customer does get a great deal.

The G-10 is a fine knife, custom quality and a real performer. (USA made G-10). Sales on a model like this are often slow due to the high price. Making models like this in Seki is tough because of the strong Yen and high prices due to high quality. Unfortunately, many cannot afford them, especially in this economy. It is also unfortunate that once we sell a model at such a low price, we end up disco'ing the model.

Nice pic Jill.

I'm betting the G10 version at the current closeout pricing ($67-$70) will probably be very close to the going rate prices of the soon to be introduced FFG Endura with FRN. The G10 is a very nice higher quality knife at give away prices. Get one now unless Endura's just don't turn your crank.

I really liked my endura g10, it was my first spydie and an awesome knife, i sold it to one of my friends, prolly shoudve just held on to it, but oh well...great knife though:thumbup:

My G10 Endura should arrive today. I have carried an Endura 4 as a duty knife since they were released. The Endura is one of my top picks for a duty folder. I was excited when I saw the police folder was being revamped and reintroduced, but the blade length is illegal in Tennessee and I wouldn't want to carry an illegal knife. The G10 Endura will fill that niche quite well.
