I'm getting ready to purchase one of these, I already have a Buck Mayo TNT and love it except for the hollow grind but thus far no problems. I've owned one spyderco a rescue orange I liked it but the hole gets me as does the profile of their knives closed given the protruding hole and how most of their blades like the sage don't fit slick inside of the handle as does the Buck Mayo TNT.

That said the spyderco sage does have a full flat grind which I like, but that hole and the amount of blade that sticks out of the handle when closed.

Can anyone post some pix of their sage or email me with some, I'd really like to see some pictures of the relief cut for the lock.

Thanks

the sage has a great closed profile, i can't even feel it in my pocket. the shape of the handle gives it a very slim profile when it's closed and it's extremely comfortable when it's open. cuts like a champ. it's one my favorite knives.

I received my new Sage 2 a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. I was looking for a smaller EDC I could live with rather than carrying my BM Skirmish or Spyderco Manix C95 all the time. The Sage feels great in your hand, lockup is rock solid with no blade play and it just looks and feels like it would/should cost at least another hundred dollars.

As an aside, I've only heard good things about the Buck Mayo TNT so it's probably one of those situations in which you can't lose either way.
Best of luck with your decision.

I love my TNT, Mayo design, light weight, super duper laser beam sharp, Buck CS, s30v steel, super knife, great value.

Another big thumbs up for the Sage 2, great ergos and it does carry great too...

I've also had both (along with a Waiamea). The Bucks have all been traded and I still have the Sage 2. The TNT was excellent as far as it's F&F, sharpness, and overall condition. It was just too light for my taste. The Ti was slightly thinner than the Sage, the lockbar action was a little "lighter", and the overall weight was a little less.

I don't really like featherweight knives. I want my knife to feel as solid as it really is. Even though the weight difference was only about .8 oz, the Sage just felt more robust, probably because of the shape of the handle and the action of the lockbar.
