Thought I had the addiction whipped. Had cleaned out my knives. Sold a lot. Gave away a few. Kept just my favorite users. Couple of Benchmades. Five or six Spydercos. Some Buck hunting knives.

Wasn't really fond of the new Spyderco models with strange looking handles or tiny blades.

Then I bought a Almite Navigator for $20 from SMKW. Hmmm....I says. This little sucker fits the hand better than I thought it would. That VG-10 gets mighty sharp. Maybe I do like these little blades. Awfully light. Sits deep in pocket. Hmmm....

Next thing I know, I caught a Native III NIB on the exchange board. Hmmm...I says. That sure is a big hunk of VG-10. Maybe I owe it to myself to try one of those wire clipped knives.

The bug was in full swing...

Innocently, I stopped at the Army-Navy store yesterday. There on the counter was a Meerkat display. Hmmm...I says. That is shaped a lot like my Navigator. Phantom lock? What's that? After three minutes of embarrassed fumbling to get the knife to close, it all becomes clear. Whoa. That's pretty cool, I says. Good price too.

Sold out?!! Alas my luck.

This morning, I innocently logged on the exchange forum. Lo' and behold. There was a LNIB 440C Meerkat for $30. I really had no choice.

Three new Spydies inside two weeks. I feel vaguely disoriented. I thought I had the addiction under control.

My name is Guyon. I'm a Spyderholic.

What's this I hear about a Paramilitary??? I sure like G10. S30V? Compression lock? Hmmm......

i'm a new spyderholic too, just got my second, an endura, to add to my native II. my name is kenny and im a spyderholic.....i cant live without spyderhol....:( :D :)

komondor, I'll bet it's an extremely pretty knife when new. I, however, do draw the line at more practical scales. I've had a couple of CF Spydies (Ladybug, Dragonfly). Sold them both because I wasn't fond of how CF wears. Is there a way to polish it and get it looking new again? If so, I might reconsider my assessment of CF.

Some alcoholics like gin. Others go for Scotch.

This Spyderholic is partial to G10 scale or FRN scales. Much more geared for use, and if I don't use a knife in some capacity, I sell it. While addicted to trying new designs, locks, steels, etc., I refuse to become a collector.

I remember someone was telling in a previous thread (or was it in the other Spyderco Forum?) how he actually closed a Meerkat without figuring how to operate the Phantom lock™ The poor Meerkat never worked the way it used to do, but that's life
