I put this pacific salt to work for a few weeks. I'm not constantly using it but I cut things like fire hose, card board, zip ties, rubber hose, chokers, nylon webbing and other crap. I noticed it wasn't cutting as it once did and found rolled sections of the edge. Bummer cuz I thought I'd just strop it to keep it in shape.

If I recall correctly, H1 is a work hardened steel that is a "work in progress" the day you buy it from the dealer. The more you use it and sharpen it the better the performance will get. Its common for most people to say the steel gets progressively better the more you use it.

You don't have to take my word for it. Listen to this interview with Michael Janich regarding H1 steel and its performance:

I was under the impression that the machining of the serrations was more work than a couple passes on the sharpmaker but whatever. I'll beat the hell out of it and move on.

Yep. It will roll and easily. Tried cutting a dried palmetto broken frond hanging from the tree once with a spyderco aqua salt that i had on me. Big mistake..i should have gotten out the saw. Rolled badly. Was able to unroll the serrated edges with a knife sharpening steel. Took awhile to do it.

I see what appears to be the peaks flattened out. Are there chunks missing or have they rolled over I tact? If rolled, maybe you could push them back in shape with a smooth screwdriver shaft or similar. Follow that with a touchup and you may be back in business.
