I just picked up a Spydercard today, and I must say that these are really nice! Very sturdy and strong.

If you thought about getting one but were wanting to hold one first to see about the quality etc... Go ahead and order one!

I will second what Keith said. Everyone who got one for Christmas loved it.

Sal you have another winner!

Grat little knife.

if you are interested - there is a string about it i started a while ago - if you want a gold plated/coloured atitanium version - please tel Sal...

Hey Mike, I was just thinking...How about having Spyderco do these up with a Bladeforums logo or an etch on the handle. These should make for a good affordable choice for for a future Bladeforums.com knife. Great quality, Price and a name we all know well.

My idea was of a titanium spydercard, colored in gold so as to make it look like a credit card - and light enough to go undetected in any wallet..

Sal said we need to poll for it to be considered - well - anyone?

For those of you who have not seen it yet - it is the exact size of a credit card, opens with one hand via the famous spyder hole and locks a very solid aus 6 blade of 2.5 inch.

GET IT fast - this is an amazing piece of cutlery.

I'm up for a Titanium model.I have a Titanium Chef's knife that holds an edge very well and it sharpens very easy on my 204 sharpener. It would be a lot easier to carry with the Card having less weight. You could get some neat colors using the Titanium.

Count me as a 'yes' vote for the Ti. The only drawback I see with the current Spydercard is the weight. (Of course I have one anyway...

What about a Ti handle with a Bladeforums.com etch on it? It may be a good idea, but it may increase the cost to much IMO. I was thinking the Spydercard would be a good Bladeforums knife because of the affordable price for all.

I haven't handled on of these yet but from earlier posts it sounds as these are heavy. Are They? Well anyway you can count me in on both knives(if they are made that is). I'm for the Spydercard as a BF knife and for the Ti handle.

How hard is it to steel titanium? My understanding is it doesn't stay sharp long,
so it might go pretty fast if one uses ceramics all the time.

Hi Everybody (sal - are you up?)

looks like we have some interest in a Ti spydercard.

as for edge holding - i am not worried for i view it as a last resort blade - not a first chouce for every day use.

how about it Sal - do we have a winner here?

I was thinking more along the lines of a Ti handle with the same blade steel used now. As for me the regular Spydercard is fine, I'd just like to see an etch added to the handle. That would keep the price down where everyone could afford one.

The problem with doing any Spyderco products with a BladeForums.com theme is that we have to order 500 of them before we can do it.

Then we have to charge a higher price to recoup some of the cost of the etching. Then we get people saying, "Why should I pay a higher price for this product when KnifeStoreX has them for $1 over cost?"

500 is a lot of knives to move. Not to mention a lot of money up front.

We'll consider it, but right now it's not an option.

Titanium is expensive to produce into a knife.

A titanium handle would be quite expensive and would require a fairly large minimum to play (500+ pcs).

A titanium handle and blade both raises the cost and the minimum quantity.

Engraving or Etching the current model is not a problem. They can be done with any standard type of engraving equipment and I do not believe a minimum is required. In this area, I would have to agree with Kdarmy. It remains affordable.

Many of our customers are purchasing the SpyderCard for the purpose of engraving because there is so much area to do so and because of the faily low price...and decent quality.

Well there we go! If the interest is there we could have an affordable knife for all. If there is not the 500 minimum thats even better...maybe start will just 100, not as much of a risk that the Native turned out to be?
Maybe a bit more of a charge to have our Bladeforums.com name added?

Well - lets go for what we got -an engraved BF version.

Who knows - once all the forum members get to handle it and understand what a great little knife it is - maybe they will opt for the Ti version...
