The Spydercos I had tested in S30V and VG-10 were 59 RC, so I'm guessing given Spyderco's penchant for going for excellent performance from a steel they would heat treat it to a similar hardness, where the steel should be crisp sharpening but not brittle. I'll have to eventually send off my Manix 2 to get tested to see. Most important to me is how it sharpens and holds it's edge. As long as it gets sharp with minimal burring and has good edge retention the RC number doesn't really matter. The way the steel is heat treated to get to it's final hardness is more important than what the final number ends up being , IMO.
