Spyderco 2012 Discontinued List

Glad I got my spyderhawk when I did. I honestly think the spyderhawk is the most under rated spyderco there is. I think it out preforms any other knife at my job (plant nursery) but I end up carrying others just because I want to try different steels and what not. If I had to chose just one knife I would be allowed to carry for a year at work the spyderhawk would be it. I also wanna grab a cf balance.the rest of them enh

Im surprised to see the the CF/Ti, serrated slipjoint UKPK's and Urbans be discontinued. I thought they were popular.

The Caspians demise was expected though. Its a real shame the Citadel is leaving us too...the only auto left is the Embassy now.

Sad to see the 701 profiles going by the wayside, they are an awesome versatile piece of kit and simply the best when it comes to sharpening serrations .

Can't say I'm too disappointed by any of these -- nothing like the loss of the Stretch ZDP/CF last year.
 
I just ordered another set of the profile rods after seeing this list. I couldn't stand the thought of losing one of my current rods.

Keep in mind that the black G-10 UKPK was discontinued one year, then colored G-10 versions were introduced the next. Those, in turn, were discontinued, then the CF and Ti announced for the following year. Not that I care one way or the other, but I certainly would not rule out the Urban, high end UKPK, or both, returning in new clothes for 2012.

Same here. Have a Bob T SlipIt, managed to grab the only other one I wanted as soon as I saw the list.

Usual reason for anything being dropped is lack of sales. While I don't have any special knowledge, I'd bet that's the case here.
 
This list looks pretty light in comparison to earlier discontinuation lists. No big surprises on the list for me.
 
Ordered a Rock Lobster last night after seeing this. Been wanting one forever and figured now, if ever, is the time to buy one.
 
I want a 92mm Citadel...better get on the ball and get one if I can before they are gone.
