I seem to remember a "Mega Folder" thread on here a while back. Had a lot of great ideas.

Thought maybe it was time for an updated version. With all the new materials and designs coming from Sal and the team there are more options.

Think of a 6" Yojimbo :D .

A jumbo Endura. 6 inches of VG-10 cutting power with a 3 screw clip.

A 5" PE/SE Harpy with S30V steel and FRN handle!

And a 6" Manix...  :D

A bigger yojimbo would be pretty cool. I guess they could slap a larger (4" or so) blade even to the existing handle.

For me 6 inches is really pushing the limit for a folding knife. Mega folders are cool toys though.

The Bison looked and felt more like a folding sword then a folding knife to me. Even for those with seven fingers on their hand the handle is still big enough. It would ofcourse be a nice collectors item but I have no idea what I would want to do with it otherwise. I like big but it just seems a bit too big.

I haven't seen the Bison, but I can say that folders in that size range are quite practical. I've been carrying one type of megafolder or another every day for more than 5 years. They carry pretty much like smaller folders, some easier, since thickness and weight have more effect on that than length. And there are definitely some tasks that are easier with a larger blade.

its no harder to carry a cuda maxx than a delica really, its no big deal. very much agree w/Mr bquinlan on that one.

i think a 4.5" ATR would be cool.

Although the design is different the way I remember the size of the Bison is about a Manix and a half in length with about the same wide and thickness as a Manix.
I have no doubt some can put the Bison to good use and benefit from the extra size but during the short period I was able to handle it I couldn't really imagine a situation in which I would prefer the Bison over the Manix and still want a folder in stead of a fixed knife. Lack of imagination is however one of my many faults and I am in no way an expert on knives.

I agree 100% Cuda Maxx is my big folder. You hardly know it's in your pocket.

A jumbo Endura  Sounds cool. I'd buy one :D

I really wish the Bison would make it out of the concept stage so I could see a picture of it... I'm dieing to see what it looks like. I just hope that if it does make it into production that there will be a SS variant.

Is there an expected release date (or range) for the Bison? It certainly sounds intriguing.
