First off, I'm a platinum member, so I hope my asking this isn't a problem as I can sell here on the forums.

What is a spyderco adventura worth? There are 3 on fleabay right now and one is starting bid at $199.99, one at $.01 and the other is buy it now $299.95.

Is this model really that much of a collector's piece or do these sellers just have wishful thinking on the mind?

If the adventura was a 2005 spydie forum knife would that make it worth more?

Thanks for the peoples input.

I paid $87 for mine in 08' or 09'. I didn't use it very much. I gave it away in a 1K giveaway. It was one of four knives the winner got to choose from.

I don't think it's worth $200. Maybe $125 or so.

Adventura is a great knife. I love almost everything about this knife, except SS handle. I carried for about six month and found a little slippery.
Regarding pricing. IMHO $199 and up is wishful thinking. Two of them were sold in August. One BIN for $160 (pictures were really good) and one on the auction for $73 (I think this is little low)

$200 for an Adventura? I'd call that wishful thinking. It's good, but it ain't that good. If it was a 2005 Forum knife, it would be worth a little more - to someone collecting Forum Knives. It might make it worth a little less to someone who doesn't like writing on their knives.

I suspect that a LNIB 2005 Forum Adventura might be worth $200 to a collector who needed it for his collection of Spyderco Forum knives. Regular version, or the Forum one to anyone but such a collector, probably not much more than half that. But, like everything else, it depends a lot on how much someone wants something, how tired they are of searching for it, and how well they can afford the asking price.

I saw one offered on the exchange (NIB with plastic protection strips still on the handle) and the seller was asking under a hundred (I forget the exact price...it was a year or so ago).

I have one that is well used and love it VERY much. That said, I passed on the second copy mentioned above for <$100 if that tell you anything;) Some days I wish I would have bought it, but most days not.

For 200 I would not even bother to read the description...way too much IMO.
Great knife? Absolutely.
Rare? Not really.

I just looked and found it for 98.00 so i gonna guess its not a good buy at 200+ Im think < 100 is better but no more than 110

Yep they are indeed available for under $100. I did, however, once see one go for $202 on the 'Bay.

They were practically being given away at the 2007 Blade Show. I didn't buy one. :D It's a damn ugly knife. (Sorry, Eric!)
