I purchased a spyderco resilience not to long ago as kinda my into to the brand. Well I noticed the blade is slightly off center. Now I don't whine or nitpick over stuff like that usually but the knife is a little tight to open.
So I guess my question would be is there anything i can do to loosn the piviot beyond sending it back. As of now if I loosen the bolt it goes more off.
Thanks in advance guys.

Edit: I have cleaned it and lubed it.

Sometimes the order in which you tighten the screws back up can change where the blade lies when closed. I do not have that specific model so I cant say for sure that is a problem, but it may be a place to start

This is most likely due to over tight handle screws and not the pivot. Unloosen (not remove) all of the handle screws, put a folded piece of paper between the blade and the scale to push it to the center, then carefully retighten the handle screws. Tighten them like you do lug nuts on your car. Tighten one a bit, move to the other, tighten a bit, move to the other, tighten a bit, move back to the first, etc. until they are snug, but not torqued down with all of your strength. Removing the paper should then leave the blade centered.

There may be lock tite on the threads so you may need to heat them with a hair dryer or a soldering iron.

Thanks a bunch guyd. I got exactly what u were saying doc. (Im a mechanic) You dumbed it down right to terms i could understand. :D It seems to have brought it over just enough.

Excellent.

I have to dumb things down. It is the only way I can understand them. :D:D

In my experience, doing what has been suggested above may have a different result depending on if the blade is in the fully open or fully closed position. If whichever way you try first does not solve the issue, try it the other way to see if that works.
