My wife and I went to see the Mel Gibson Movie Payback yesterday and I noticed he used a Spydie to cut the gas line on the bad guys car. It was fast but it looked like a worker model.Has any one seen it? I always get a kick out of watching people in the movies or television use Spydies to extricate themselves from situations where the serrated blades are the best choice.

I thought it was a Viele. If you like quick scenes of serrated Spydie utility use, check out the movie Entrapment and don't blink your eyes at the beginning!

Hey how about in "Cliffhanger" when the bad guy gets stabbed in the leg with the Endura? Or "Strange Days" when the female bodyguard flicks out the yellow handled Rescue?

Don't forget Needful Things. If I remember correctly, a Police model was used.

I've seen Spydies show up on Babylon 5 from time to time. Fact is I thought that is why Sal had the Natives stamped Golden Colorado USA Earth, because he figures they will end up off planet some day and he wants it known where they came from.

In a recent Dean Koontz novel for TV aired in the east coast, one of the lead roles played by one of the Baldwin brothers (forgot which)show him producing and opening a Mariner (stainless)but he never used it!! Oh well. And yes, he played a baddie. Actually, it was his clone(?)

In Anaconda , Ice Cube opens a Delica several times in preparation to use as a weapon, but losed it in the Amazon before it can dispatch the bad guy (Jon Voight).

In payback it looked like a Delica. Small but efficient.

Check out Daylight with Sly, he uses a Endura (I think) to cut away his gear just before the fan gets going.

How come they always have to add that whoosh...SNAP sound to knives in the movies? I used to track what knives appear where, but stopped for a while. Neat topic though.
