Spyderco and Randall?

Beyond both being knife manufacturers, what is the connection between Spyderco and Randall? Spyderco lists Randall knives in their online store.

Spyderco is a Dealer of Randall Made Knives in Colorado. That's the connection......Well, that and they both are fantastic knife manufacturers.;)
 
I admit, it does sound odd that one knife manufacturer is also a dealer of another manufacturer's knives, but I guess it's not that uncommon, as Boker is a German Dealer of Spyderco, CRKT, and Opinel knives.:)
 
My guess is that Sal and others at Spyderco are fans and supporters of Randall knives, and they became a dealer so they have a chance to check out cool new Randalls on a regular basis. Sounds like a good idea to me!

Randall has one dealer in each state. Joe Davis was the Randall dealer in Colorado for a zillion years. I nagged Gary about a dealership for many years. When Joe retired, Randall let Spyderco be the Colorado dealer.

We have a Randall display in the store.
