I have a Fine Ceramic bench stone and am looking to purchase an
Ultra Fine as well. I have a couple of questions:

What is the actual difference in the grits of the two stones? Someone
said 1800 vs. 2000, but this hardly seems a big enough jump to justify
an entirely different stone and a rather large price difference.

What other stones (black Arkansas, transluscent Arkansas, 4,000/6,000/8,000 grit waterstone, etc.) do these compare to in terms of fineness?

Why do the Ultra Fine seem to be unbevelled around the edges (promoting chipping) while the fine stones are nicely bevelled? Also, why do the Ultra Fine stones have a tendency to be warped/banana shaped?

Sal? Anyone?

Thanks,

John
