spyderco blade coating

Does anyone know what material is used to coat a black spyderco blade?
specifically the military and the autos.

It is called DLC or Diamond Like Carbon.

Most people say spydercos coating holds up alot better than most other companies.

DLC has the second lowest coefficient of friction of any material - it is even slipperier than teflon. Tough stuff.
