Hey I recently got a endura with aus-8 blade, highly polished. I was wondering if anyone knows of a place that i can get the blade refinished, bead blasted or what have you. Thanks

Take it to your local auto body shop with a bead blaster, and ask them to blast the blade(keep in mind to be careful around the handle). It shouldn't cost much, and won't take to long to do.

Gunner,

As an alternative to bead-blasting, pick up some Scotch-Brite at your local hardware store/Home Depot. The maroon pads (#7447) are marked as "very fine" and should give you a brushed finish with minimal effort. See the recent Polishing Tip thread in the HI Forum for more details.

Hey Jon,
That's good advice! If the body shop won't do it, you'll have to shop around to see who has a blasting unit. A friend-of-friend let me use his unit in his shop. I had so much fun, I could've stayed there all day! You can sand blast the blade, too. There's really not much difference between sand blasting and bead blasting, that I noticed. Sand blasting uses super fine sand and bead blasting uses extremely tiny glass "beads" that are as small as the tiny sand granules. Either way, you'll have fun, and the blade should turn out well.
