This one is late getting up but will be placed in line to knock out among some of the other smaller jobs here.

Nick looked up some pics and found one of a knife I did some time ago and liked it so he wants that done to his own.

What I will shoot for his this here in these before and after pictures. I guess we'll see how close I can get. This second 'cut off' pic is a scan of a print out sent with the knife. This always helps me so I don't have to stop and look up things. With this in hand when I get to the knife it will make things a lot easier and much faster too.

Hey STR,

I was excited to see this thread in the forum. I'm glad my knife was delivered to you safely. I think the Rescue 93mm is a pretty nice knife - it really packs a lot of cutting edge. When I saw pictures of your sheepsfoot-to-wharncliffe mods I was really impressed. For my applications, I think the pointier wharncliffe tip will work very nicely and make it a better knife for general utility. I'm really looking forward to using this knife - pointy with lots of serrations is just about perfect for me.

Hopefully you don't mind me adding these images of the mod that caught my eye, as well as another mod from the same thread on another forum. Maybe this will inspire more wharncliffes - such a great blade shape.

Not at all. Since I had to make a Wave today and use the same belts for both I knocked yours out as requested also. Here is a scan of yours and its ready to be packed up and mailed out tomorrow.

These are smaller easier jobs compared to some so it was not a big deal.

Personally this makes the knife more visually appealing to me so I think its the better of some mods I do. Its amazing how much more sleek and attractive it is after this simple reprofile.

Wow, that was fast! I can't wait to get this knife in my hands and use it. I totally agree that this mod makes for a very nice & sleek looking knife. I think the tip will be more usable as well, so I am really happy.

Thanks!
Nick

Hopefully it's ok to ask in this thread. How much to get this mod done? I have a blue 93mm Rescue also, and may want this done. Thx.

Normally I do prefer separate threads but this is ok cause its the same topic.
Pretty sure I've done em all for the same price $30 plus shipping. I know some have thought that was a lot but its my opinion that to do this without damage to the blade by annealing it that this takes patience and time so its mostly for standing there dipping and grinding dipping and grinding in very short bursts so the blade never gets beyond luke warm.

Thanks.

Thank you sir. I think that is a fair price as I understand the not heating it up part. I may be sending you one. :)

Hi Sewage Worker
I would encourage you to get the mod. I like mine a lot. It makes the knife more versatile and better for general use, in my opinion.
STR's work on this one looks really really nice.

Yeah I agree. The bigger model it does look nicer. Too bad Spyderco didn't offer it this way. I think it would sell a lot better for them if they did but they want that blunt tip for rescue even though I've had several that opted to make it a point instead. On the full serrated ones the point is not really as much a point as the non serrated for the small one. About the best I can do is taper it down to the last hairs width distance to the tip and leave just the semblance of a point on the very first serration.
