Hi all, I recently picked up a new Spyderco Starmate (combo edge)at a good price, considering it features CPM 440V steel and G10 scales, which Spyderco uses on the Military, I'm quite impressed it. Couple of questions came to mind:
Does anyone know why Spyderco has discontinued production of the Starmate?
Also does anyone know what metal the recessed liner lock is made out of? I think the Military uses Titanium, not sure if the Starmate does too.
I also noticed that the G10 scale/liner on the side without the clip has an uneven gap which either means that the blade isn't dead centre or that both scales/liners are not parallel, has anyone else who owns a Starmate experienced this and is it fixable (I am a nooB)?
I'm hoping maybe if I can get my hands on the right size Torx wrench I can fix it. It's just kind'a annoying to see that little wedge shaped gap there on close inspection and it makes it more susceptible to grit that scratches the pivot area.
Thanks!
