Turns out, I love the knife. It has taken its place in my pocket for the last 2 weeks. I bought it recently on a whim and ended up really liking it.
I'm not usually a guy who carries frame locks. Just not my favorite lock. This knife is fantastic. It's a little smaller than the Native 5 (which I like) but with the choil, I can get a nice four finger grip. It's the smoothest knife I own. It rivals some bearing knives. If I unlock it, the blade drops shut freely. The fit and finish on this guy is the stuff. Probably the best fit and finished Spyderco I have owned. I have a handful of Para 2's, 3's and Native 5's and they are really a close second, or close to a tie in the fit and finish department. Spyderco has really stepped up their game on the Golden,CO made stuff.
The factory clip really sucked. I grabbed an MXG clip as I like it better. I love Lynch clips too but sometimes I don't want a big hole in the clip.
It's difficult but I can open and close the knife left handed too. I can get a small bit of my thumb meat into the hole and get it open. You have to be gentle or else you squeeze the lock and the detent pressure will not allow you to open it.
Slices like a demon. Blade is not too thick or too thin. The edge seems mad thin however. I've not had a frame lock in probably 3 years but I really like this one.
So under rated. This has become my daily office knife. However, with Corona-virus, I am now working from home indefinitely, so I could roll something larger if I want. I'm gonna stick with this one for a while. I love it.
Enjoy some pics...
