Gentlemen,
Quick question for the wood experts. Picked up one of the Bushcrafters when they first slashed the price a few months back. It had one small crack in one of the scales and I filled it with super glue and sanded it until I was happy with the finish. I then coated it in watco's and after letting it dry lightly sanded with steel wool. I repeated the process a few times, but still couldn't get a polished finish.
I then tried to coat it and let it dry for several days. The handle remains sticky even after a week of drying. I've since sanded it back down with Steel wool. Am I missing a step or do I just need to live with an unpolished handle? That's ok if that's the answer, I'm still very happy with it.
